Our story

Why build
the old way?

AbodeMOD started with a simple question: why do we still build homes the way we did a century ago? A conventional wall is framed, insulated, sheathed and wrapped by different crews, one after another. Every handoff adds time and cost, and every stud is a gap in the insulation.

ThermaSteel answered that question decades ago. Its panels bond light-gauge steel framing to EPS insulation, with the steel thermally broken from the exterior face, so a single panel does the work of four trades. The system has been manufactured for 56 years and used on 75,000+ projects in 83 countries.

AbodeMOD turns that system into a short list of well-designed homes you can order: seven floor plans from 560 to 2,681 square feet, each supplied as a complete panel kit with shop drawings. Owners and builders start with a stronger, better-insulated structure, then finish it their way.

Honest scope

A shell kit is the structure, not a finished home. We say so on every page, so you can budget the whole project from day one.

Performance you can't retrofit

Insulation and air-tightness are hardest to fix later. ThermaSteel builds them into the wall: R-51 exterior walls with no thermal bridging.

Materials that last

Steel and EPS don't rot, feed termites or grow mold. The assembly is non-combustible, with a 2-hour load-bearing fire rating.

Your builder, your finishes

Use the contractor you trust and the siding, windows and interiors you love. The panels take stucco, siding, brick or stone.

Delivered across
the Northeast.

Standard curbside delivery is included with every kit shipped to Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Building somewhere else? We can quote delivery to other locations, and to sites that need ferries, tolls or off-road access. Ask for a delivery quote, or read the shipping policy.
